When I used to think of breathwork, I thought it was a lot like the breathing style that we practice in yoga- Pranayama. My interest was peaked when I participated in an event using Holotropic Breathwork. I was able to have an incredibly calming and grounding experience (dare I say euphoric?) in 30mins using only my breath.
Like many of us, I suffer from anxiety. I have tried so many things to help me feel grounded when getting an anxiety attack. Throughout the years, I have discovered that physical exercise really helps act as a form of relief from my anxiety. Connecting with my body is something that is really helpful for me. But sometimes, anxiety creeps up on me and I can’t squeeze a workout in, what then?
